We work on exciting projects to solve hard problems at the intersection of engineering, design, and high-stakes scenarios such as: big data analytics, decision support tools, multi-person collaborative systems, human-robot interaction, augmented reality, and context aware situation awareness tools in both the commercial and national security arenas. You will apply user-centered research and design to create usable, engaging, modern, and intuitive interfaces for cutting-edge systems sponsored by the US Government and commercial customers as well as Internal R&D projects. Specific projects may require you to design for users in high cognitive workload situations, users attempting to solve complex data problems (including data visualization and overcoming cognitive bias), and safety critical operations. The ideal candidate is an assertive self-starter, engaging colleagues and building ideas in a team-centered environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters, or Ph.D. degree in Human Factors Engineering, HCI, Behavior Sciences, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or a related field,

  • Minimum of 3 – 8 years of related work experience (depending on degree)

  • Human Factors and User Research: Demonstrated capability to plan, design, and conduct metrics-based technology assessments with users, usability testing, and human systems evaluations using both qualitative and quantitative research methods

  • Mastery of statistics, interview coding, process charting, and systems modeling

  • Critical thinking skills for framing, analyzing, and synthesizing complex problems, qualitatively and quantitatively

  • Delivery of data-based insights to business stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams including software, Human Factors, UX, and hardware-in-the-loop engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to Present complex data in a compelling manner verbally and visually

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest and/or experience in emerging technology (e.g., AR/VR, autonomy, complex systems modeling).

  • Demonstrated successful proposal writing experience

  • Act with integrity and treat yourself and your team with respect.

  • Exceed customer expectations, surprising and delighting not only external customers, but also internal customers.

  • Energized by a challenge.
