Microsoft Corporation Senior Program Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Have you ever wondered how the internal sales management platforms and capabilities function behind the Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) business and how Microsoft manages its Professional Services deals with our Customers? Most simplistically, we support the sales management platforms, processes and capabilities for the Sales Management domain for our MCS and Customer Experiences & Support (CE&S) teams. The workflow experiences that support our ability to do business are massive, complex, and mission critical for the MCS and CE&S businesses. It is the Digital Professional Services (DPS) engineering team that leads that effort.

Our scope includes pre-sales and sales (lead to order), Quoting, Deal Management, Contract Management, (consulting and support) and more. Our systems and experiences must grow to meet tomorrow’s challenges. We will accelerate Microsoft’s growth by radically transforming our contracting, approval and workflow experiences to be the most scalable, agile, intelligent, and compliant in the world. We work on the premise that our experiences are consumer grade and showcase the best of the Microsoft technology and user experience stack.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

As a Senior Program Manager in DPS, you will be part of that journey. You will work with our key partners across Microsoft to create, drive and deliver user experiences that support and scale our business functions. To be successful in this role

  • You must be a learner, curious and willing to deeply understand partner needs and able to translate those needs into business priorities for engineering partners.

  • You will create a clear point of view that comes from first-hand, large-scale experience with Microsoft and industry solutions.

  • You will define the vision for success – meeting or far exceeding industry solutions.

  • You will define the metrics by which we measure and judge successful outcomes, and you will work with engineering to create sophisticated methods for creating and measuring progress towards those outcomes.

  • You will work with User Research and User Design to develop sophisticated consumer grade, ML and AI driven user experiences that support and empower our customers and partners to make decisions and create value and insights.

  • You will drive the delivery of those outcomes and evangelize the results within our organization, within our partner organizations, and externally to the industry.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

This is an exciting and challenging role that will utilize all your skills and help you develop new skills. To be successful in this role you must have:

  • 7+ years of product management or product design experience working with partners in non-engineering organizations

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, math, industrial design, finance, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required.

  • The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Candidates selected for this position must comply with Federal Executive Order 14042 mandating that federal contractors and subcontractors receive the COVID-19 vaccine by being fully vaccinated before their date of hire, or work with Microsoft to receive an approved religious or medical accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with current Microsoft products and technologies

  • Previous experience with core financial or professional services

  • Experience working in a global delivery model

  • Skilled at multi-tasking and managing projects that have broad organizational impact and/or high corporate visibility

  • High enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment

  • A strong verbal and written communicator, with demonstrated storytelling experience, who is motivated and excited to share your team’s outcomes
