Microsoft Corporation Senior Program Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Our team’s mission is to drive Teams adoption using Line of Business apps and services and the platform capabilities upon which these apps and services are built.

In this role, you will own a broad charter that impacts Federal agencies of the US Government and their developers, IT pros and end-users. The role will involve working closely with Federal agency customers in the GCC, GCC-H and DoD clouds, external partners and Microsoft Teams engineering in the planning, development, and operations of innovative cloud services that integrate with the Microsoft Teams platform. You need to be able to drive successful collaboration across these various groups while maintaining a focus on partner and customer requirements and the mutual strategic direction.

The Federal agency customers are based primarily in US Eastern time zone but have been supported from as far west as Bellevue, WA so while East Coast based candidates are preferred, the only location requirement is North America.

Responsibilities

  • Discover and Envision and, ideally, spec, key user scenarios for how an app or service would work and interact with MS Teams

  • Manage the Federal customer relationship end to end from conception to launch, ensuring success for the customer at each stage of the development of Digital Transformations (Line of Business solutions integrated into Microsoft Teams)

  • Work with Federal agency customers to drive the adoption of partner apps

  • Provide feedback and influence Teams core, platform and extensibility teams on how to best evolve the product and platform for our customers

  • Plan and lead requirements, project, and relevant competitive reviews with team and executive leadership

  • Drive execution and demonstrate end-to-end ownership of complex, cross-group and cross-discipline projects to successful completion

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience working with web and mobile technologies, service operations at scale, or other highly technical areas

  • Track record of guiding large IT deployments from evaluation all the way through deployment and adoption at scale to thousands of users

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically

  • Experience presenting to executives, IT staff, and end users; able to pivot quickly and adapt messaging to suit a range of audience technical levels and requirements

  • Technical understanding of collaboration technology and global cloud services, and general ability to ramp up and go deep in new technical areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Government Secret level Clearance to be able to travel to customer sites.

  • Discover and Envision and, ideally, spec, key user scenarios for how an app or service would work and interact with Microsoft Teams

  • Prior experience driving customer adoption of Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Yammer, or related products

  • The ability to wear many hats, learn quickly and change direction when needed

  • The ability to think creatively and critically about product features and user scenarios in the enterprise space

  • Innate curiosity and ability to self-start in an ambiguous and rapidly changing startup environment

  • Strong project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills through all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical

  • Must be biased for action

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience)
