As a Senior Sensor Physicist, the candidate will play a critical role in the development of advanced quantum- and optical-based platforms for highly precise sensing, timing, and measurement systems. The candidate will work closely with a team of engineers and physicists to conceive, model, design, develop, and characterize prototype quantum sensors, systems, and technology platforms.
A Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, optics, electrical engineering, or related discipline is required.
Demonstrated expertise in quantum systems (modeling, simulation, and/or implementation and testing) is required.
Strong background in atomic and quantum theory, along with the ability to capture, understand, and model physical phenomena, is required
Strong competency in a computing environment such MATLAB, Python, Mathematica, or similar is required.
The individual must be highly self-motivated and must thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Support business development, write proposals, white papers, and technical documents.
Deliver technical presentations to internal and external customers.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to brief non-technical audiences, is required.
Experience with commercial or customized simulation and computation software is highly desired.
Experience performing laboratory experiments and evaluating fieldable prototypes
Five years of professional experience working with quantum and optical systems.
