Microsoft Corporation Senior Technical Program Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Microsoft Cloud for Industry team is looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive end-to-end success with Microsoft’s strategic customers and partners in Financial Services, with a focus on banking. Responsibilities

In this cross-functional role, you will collaborate with a talented set of stakeholders across Microsoft to shape our platform, drive industry specific features, serve customers, and transform the industry. You will develop a broad and deep understanding of our technical architecture and evolving business strategy, including how our industry portfolio integrates with Microsoft’s entire platform, and you should have a passion for understanding our customer requirements. You will need to understand the challenges that affect regulated industries on a global scale and help design the technology and adoption approach that accelerate a new generation of transformation for FSI. This team is tackling challenging engineering and business problems within the broader organization. Our work has high visibility with the Microsoft senior leadership team and many opportunities to share our successes and receive support and guidance. More specifically, you will:

  • Maintain trusted partnerships across a wide array of disciplines and teams.

  • Help develop the strategy for transformational changes in banking that will propel companies into new markets, new mindsets, new business models, and entirely new experiences.

  • Leverage customer insights (commercial and consumer), industry trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Areas of focus may include digital assets, token services, confidential computing, and the broader data sharing landscape.

  • Contribute to product incubation by building a product execution strategy, including co-development approach with other Microsoft teams.

  • Coordinate and oversee detailed project plans to deliver key outcomes.

  • Serve as subject matter expert and ambassador for transformational changes in banking.

  • This is a role with customer and partner interaction supporting a global customer base and monthly travel is expected.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Program / Technical Product Management experience

  • Experience with building services on Azure or other cloud platforms

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience defining, measuring, innovating, and driving change in large-scale software products and systems

  • Ability to concisely frame problems and design simple solutions

  • Experience leading with and making decisions based on data and metrics

  • Ability to build relationships with and influence external customers and partners

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate business problems, alternatives, and product strategy.

  • Excellent cross-discipline leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills. Lead, drive change, and influence without authority across groups and executives.

  • Ability to create and improve world-class systems for ensuring we have the right capacity available in the right places at the right time

  • Ability to anticipate customer needs years from now and ensure we are building to be ready

  • Experience in financial services or related fields

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Security Screening:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
