eGenesis Bio Software Engineer in Cambridge, Massachusetts

At eGenesis, we aspire to deliver safe and effective human transplantable cells, tissue and organs utilizing the latest advancements in genome editing.
POSITION SUMMARY
eGenesis seeks a highly motivated software engineer with laboratory or clinical experience to become part of a biotechnology team collaborating in the design and analysis of gene-editing experiments and results, toward the goal of solving the organ transplant shortage by xeno-transplantation of pig organs and tissues into humans.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and enhance electronic notebook and LIMS systems including creating tools to load data from external sources, modifying/adding workflows, ensuring data completeness and consistency, and creating new tools to make it easier for laboratory personnel to capture necessary data
Collect, codify, and load data from animal health records and lab and multi-omics experiments into data warehouse. Organize that data for ease of exploration and querying
Build and maintain production versions of genomic analysis pipelines designed by our computational biologists. Ensure that pipelines includes needed provenance tracking and QC tests, and are designed to accommodate our expected scale-up
Maintain cloud infrastructure and properly optimize cloud use for our pipelines
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor?s or Masters in computer science, bioinformatics or related field
Expertise in Python or related languages
3+ years experience in lab informatics, clinical informatics, or genomics informatics
Experience with iterative software design, and with working with users to iteratively improve tools and respond to user requests rapidly.
Some background in scientific programming, laboratory software, or clinical software helpful
Understanding of databases & knowledge of SQL.
