Sage Therapeutics Sr. Business Systems Analyst, Medical Systems in Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Sr. Business Systems Analyst, Medical Systems will play a key role in supporting and improving a diverse group of systems used by the Medical and Regulatory groups within Sage. This position will serve as a collaborative IT partner to the system users, primary liaison with our vendors and managed services partners, and a key IT team member in defining and incorporating best practices.
Specific job responsibilities include:
Manage the planning, design and implementation of system product changes as the key liaison between business groups and managed services partners. Translate business needs into effective system requirements to improve efficiencies and streamline processes.
Provide documentation including functional requirements, test scripts, and release notes.
Understand how systems align with broader Commercial IT architecture. Partner with IT colleagues to ensure system changes support data and architectural designs
Perform troubleshooting and resolution of system support requests, working with end-users, IT colleagues, and our Managed Services Partners
Proactively identify production risks and create actionable mitigation plans
Performs administrative and management tasks required to establish and maintain compliance with various regulatory standards
Contribute to the creation of system operational procedures including change management, access management, performance, backup and recovery plans, and security
Performs other related duties as assigned
At least 7 - 10 years of experience working in Commercial IT in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industries
At least 5 years of experience as a business systems analyst, or business administrator of Commercial or Medical IT systems
A minimum of 2 years technical hands-on experience in configuration and administration of Veeva Vault (PromoMats, MedComms, QualityDocs) or Salesforce.com solutions. Certifications are a plus.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Experience with one or more IT system development methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, waterfall)
Excellent communication skills and ability to proactively engage with business and IT partners
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
A history of using a partnership approach in implementing technology solutions, with an ability and interest in understanding the underlying business need to provide valuable solutions
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
