Who we are
BBN Technologies is seeking a senior electrical engineer to support, develop and initiate advanced research and development projects in their Physical Sciences and Systems business unit Cambridge, MA.
What will you do
The successful candidate will have a solid research background in the analog and digital electronics and in the design, testing and analysis of advanced sensors, circuits, or devices. A demonstrated ability to develop and apply advanced digital signal processing techniques to analyze physical phenomena (e.g., acoustics, optics, electro-magnetics, etc.) and devices is required. Experience with algorithm development, machine-learning, artificial intelligence, analog electronics or control systems is desired.
The candidate will be expected to support new business development by participating in proposals and making presentations to prospective customers. These projects may be sponsored by the Department of Defense, other Federal Government agencies or commercial organizations.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. (required)
A minimum of 5 years applicable experience in electronic circuit design and analysis.
Proven ability to take a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and develop a complete hardware design, and verifying via test and integration.
Broad based hardware engineering background in both Digital and Analog Circuit Design
Prior experience with analog sensor interface design utilizing ICP, CVLD, Acoustic and IR transducers. Anti-aliasing and reconstruction filter design, A/D and D/A interfacing experience required.
Ability to perform circuit simulation and analysis using Spice, LT Spice and MATLAB
Experience with schematic capture and board layout using tools such as ORCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro.
Ability to perform light assembly and rework of prototype hardware to support test and evaluation.
Experience writing test procedures, conducting tests, and proficient in use of electronic test and measurement equipment.
Strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Position may require some amount of overnight travel
Working Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Willingness to apply for and be granted a US Government Security clearance
Advanced degree is highly desired
Prior experience with PADS and Mentor Graphics tool chain experience a plus.
Product certification based on military and commercial standards; UL/FCC, MIL-STD-810, 461, 704
Experience with low power electronics design for use in battery applications
Experience selecting COTS board and component level products for use in military applications.
Designs using Altera and Xilinx FPGA/CPLD
Current DoD Security clearance
