Additional Information:

This role is offered as a hybrid (some combination of onsite and remote) where you are required to be onsite at our Boston, MA based campus several days per month. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager.

HBS Online is in search of an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager with a strong background in Agile methodologies to lead projects on a team of Software Engineers, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and UX Designers. This role will oversee several concurrent, complex, and impactful technology projects, collaborating across technical and business teams to drive key decisions on scope, resource, and time to ensure their successful completion from ideation to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline. Manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product owners, ensuring that the product backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with stakeholder expectations as well as with business analysts and software engineers to gain clear insights and understanding of tasks, ensuring accurate implementation and timely delivery.

  • Resource Management: Work with Program Managers to allocate and manage resources efficiently, ensuring that projects are adequately staffed and that resources are used effectively.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

  • Quality Assurance: Oversee all project deliverables, ensuring that they meet the defined quality standards.

  • Metrics & Reporting: Track and communicate project metrics, such as velocity, sprint burn-down, and release burn-up charts, to monitor team performance and ensure project transparency.

  • Agile Leadership: Serve as an advocate for Agile practices, ensuring adherence to Agile principles, values, and practices.

  • Scrum Mastery: As needed, act as Scrum Master facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics.

  • Other duties as assigned
