Novartis Pharmaceuticals Strategy Lead, NIBR in Cambridge, Massachusetts

331649BR Job ID: 331649BR Job Description: Lead and support cross-functional strategic projects sponsored by the NIBR President, Head of Strategy, and NIRB Leadership Team (NLT) members, spanning from global NIBR Strategic Planning to specific Disease Areas/Functional Areas (DA/FA) engagements. Major Accountabilities (Describe the main results of the job to be achieved) •Lead and manage strategic projects (e.g., DA / Unit strategy design / refreshes, organizational effectiveness engagements, operational excellence initiatives, etc.) as defined by the NIBR President, Chief of Staff, or other NLT members •Significantly contribute to developing the long term NIBR Strategy and translating to concrete scientific and operational plans •Lead analyses and development of strategic recommendations for special or deep dive topics •Understand critical data or insights required, and collaborate effectively to collect and process for senior stake-holders •Engage and influence executive and senior leaders across Novartis, and facilitate challenging discussions that help drive a leadership team to decisions •Coach colleagues on the best practices of strategic planning and data analytics; support leadership teams DA / FA strategic reviews \n\n\n\n Position Title: Strategy Lead, NIBR Minimum requirements: •Post-graduate degree in a scientific discipline required; M.D. or PhD preferred •Excellent communication in English required (written and spoken) •3-5 years of practical strategy, business, or finance experience required (consulting, VC or in-house pharma/ biotech strategic planning preferred) •Strong understanding of the drug discovery and development process •Highly quantitative and qualitative analytical skillset required with strong ability to translate diverse analyses into clear frameworks aimed at driving decision-making •Track record of developing research and/ or organizational strategies across a variety of organizational challenges, from diagnostic phase through to implementation •Experience in leading teams either directly or in a matrix structure. •Strong influencing skills, with ability to establish strong partnerships and foster sense of purpose and community •Deep expertise in analytics, gathering competitive intelligence, benchmarking approaches and expert interviewing •Ability to work collaboratively with executive leaders, bench scientists as well as finance and business development colleagues •Independently prepare executive level communications including Board of Director and Investor presentations. •Excellent change management skills Why consider Novartis? 769 million.
