  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work independently and/or as part of a team.

    Additional Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with SABA is preferred.

  • Prior experience at a University is a plus.

  • Prior experience with the Agile methodology and User Experience/Design Thinking is preferred.

  • Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor

Department:ATS Enterprise ApplicationsPre-Employment Screening:Education, IdentityJob Function:Information Technology Duties & Responsibilities:Reporting to the Associate Director for HR Systems, the Senior Analyst is the Service Offering Owner (SOO) for the Harvard Training Portal (using SABA) is a key position on the HR Systems Functional team. The SOO is responsible for managing the relationship with the vendor and with the Harvard business owners, working with the users to understand their needs and priorities, documenting and communicating the changes, and staying informed of the vendor’s road map and new functionality.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions*):

  • Manage the relationship with the vendor and with the Harvard business owners. Stay informed of the product road map and future functionality, via training, conferences, webinars and focus groups. Share the information with the business owners.

  • Perform fit/gap analysis and conduct testing of triannual upgrades. Test new functionality. Work with the vendor to report issues found in testing. Identify workarounds for issues found and not fixed in time for production.

  • Identify system and configuration changes needed to meet business priorities and users’ needs. This includes creating or changing reports, data feeds, APIs, and rules. Manage the backlog and priorities, work with the users to understand their needs, work closely with the vendor to identify solutions and communicate the changes back to the users. Document and complete some operational tasks.

  • Participate in the production support activities. Ensure that users’ requests and incidents are resolved within our SLAs. Monitor nightly data feeds and troubleshoot issues with vendor and/or Harvard IT team. Work with the vendor to monitor SLAs and escalate issues.

  • Independently work on project as an individual contributor and/or project coordinator. An example of a project could be to design, develop and deploy a micro application, or working with groups within Harvard such as IACUC to configure courses and curriculums. Provide subject matter expertise. Establish and monitor the project plan’s deadlines. Lead meetings with end users and business owners. Design system solutions within the scope of the project; validate the solution with the users, business owners and other analysts/developers before implementing them. Monitor progress and manage the resources to ensure the tasks are completed on time. Provide regular status updates, identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate. Assist with the roll out strategy and the change management plan.

  • Mentor other analysts in area of expertise by reviewing work, answering questions and conducting informal or formal training sessions.

  • Collaborate with the Associate Director, Product Managers and other Analysts to identify opportunities for process or system improvements. Make suggestions to implement those changes.
