Forrester VP, CIO Executive Partner in Cambridge, Massachusetts

About This Role:

Forrester Research is looking for a VP, Executive Partner for its executive programs for chief information officers (CIO). Clients of the executive program group are the senior-most marketing, digital, and technology leaders at $1 billion-plus organizations whose overall responsibility are leading their firm’s shift to customer obsession, defining a customer experience aligned with the brand promise, providing customer insights to inform the business strategy, leading digital transformation efforts, and recognizing technology's impact on customers and the business.

The VP, CIO Executive Partner is responsible for growing the executive program and developing and maintaining strong relationships with executive program clients and the entire Forrester ecosystem.

The successful candidate will help technology executives transform their organization by serving as a trusted advisor to CIO EP clients. This individual will advise clients by pushing their thinking, collaboratively developing strategy, and providing them with actionable advice to help advance their most important priorities.

The VP, CIO Executive Partner is responsible for client delivery, client growth and retention, and ongoing client engagement with the executive clients. Candidates must possess the relevant executive-level technology experience and strategic thought leadership to challenge clients’ thinking. Specifically, the VP, CIO Executive Partner will:

  • Serve as a strategic business advisor to executive program clients, advising them and providing them with actionable feedback on their strategies by applying Forrester’s research and leveraging their own practitioner experience.

  • Manage senior-most client relationships, partnering with sales and customer service teams in account planning and overall Forrester engagement to deepen and grow client account relationships.

  • Work with product, research, and other internal partners to create a comprehensive delivery plan that is grounded in Forrester IP, tools, and best practices; leverages Forrester assets; and provides voice of the customer into Forrester content creation.

  • Build and maintain client engagement plans that help convey value delivered throughout the client relationship and strengthen the case for renewal.

  • Provide proactive business development support to Forrester’s sales organization and directly to prospects.

  • Develop and nurture existing leads.

  • Be a thought leader in the technology space by representing Forrester in social media channels and by speaking at external events.

  • Fifteen-plus years of proven experience in technology leadership as a chief information officer (CIO), chief technology officer (CTO), or other technology executive roles.

  • Familiarity with and understanding of the IT industry and the role of the CIO (including digital transformation, executive management, change management, cybersecurity, business model innovation, automation and intelligent systems, digital strategy, and trends, use of metrics, etc.).

  • In-depth understanding of the business value of IT and the alignment of business and IT strategies.

  • A strong executive presence and the ability to create positive impressions with C-suite executives through all channels of communication.

  • Experience with client service with executives at large multinational organizations.

  • Strong collaboration, partnering, and influencing skills — getting the most and best out of the collaborative relationships, keeping people informed, and influencing and partnering to ensure success.
