Microsoft Corporation Worldwide Learning Release Program Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

As the Worldwide Learning Release Program Manager, you will work closely with our engineering and programs teams to define release plans and coordinate and manage the release of learning programs, online services and content. You will be responsible for ensuring solutions are continuously delivered on time and with the highest quality. You’ll need to be the resident expert in what is being built on the current horizon, as well as coordinate and drive release alignment for future investments. You’ll be part of a dynamic team operating in a fast-paced cadence, requiring you to work closely across various teams and roles in the organization. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Engineering to define/evolve existing release processes, gates and requirements for Worldwide Learning products and programs

  • Define and drive the full release cadence across the Worldwide Learning portfolio

  • Drive clarity and transparency on the portfolio of products and initiatives; communicate effectively with all organization levels

  • Develop and execute release plans and schedules for the organization and ensure alignment with other organizations

  • Coordinate with business planning, marketing, and sales on messaging and release timelines

  • Define, control, monitor and measure release requirements and quality gates across all workstreams

  • Be a subject matter expert in global requirements related to privacy, accessibility, security, and compliance

  • Contribute to the overall product strategy and roadmap

  • Constantly improve the efficiency of release processes and rhythms

  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity and growth, customer focus, and an environment that enables everyone to realize their full potential

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have strong verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, and the creativity to tackle hard, ambiguous problems in innovative ways. You also thrive in a team environment that values cross-team collaboration and building on the success of others.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of program management experience with a track record of delivering on time

  • 2+ years of release management experience shipping products and large-scale online services, or equivalent experience

  • Exceptional project management and organization skills, with an eye for details

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineering and business functions

  • Ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration

  • Ability to think strategically and drive change to deliver results

  • Exceptional problem solving, technical, and data analysis skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field preferred or equivalent industry experience

  • PMP, Agile or other project management certification, a plus
