As the Software Engineering Manager at AutoGuide, you will be involved in the design, development, testing, and installation of software used to coordinate the movements of Automous Mobile Robots in warehouses and factories.
The AutoGuide Software Development and Quality Engineering team is looking for an Associate Manager to join us in Chelmsford, MA. In this role, you will perform people and project management, becoming a part of the leadership team responsible for translating AutoGuide’s goals and strategies into tools and services that provide outstanding business value to AutoGuide’s customers. You'll manage a team of software engineers, helping them meet organizational goals while advancing their career development. As an Manager, you'll collaborate with the engineerings leaders in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment.
Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to a high-performing team of 10 software engineers
Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to develop and communicate roadmaps and schedules for our offerings
Collaborate with DevOps and your team on process improvements
Develop and enhance technical talent, building the skills needed for future business success
Manage associate performance and perform development management
Build effective relationships with AutoGuide’s engineering teams
Build a talent acquisition (TA) pipeline
Collaborate and coordinate with the TA team on hiring
Basic Qualifications & Skills
10-15+ years experience in commercial software development (not IT or internal projects)
3+ years in an engineering leadership position with demonstrated competence in delivering high concurrency applications
Prior software engineering experience is essential for success this role
Strong familiarity with tools and technology used to deliver high concurrency applications
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve goals
Ability to lead teams through rapid change while maintaining a focus on business goals
Strategic planning and exceptional problem-solving skills
Experience working in an Agile environment, including experience with Scrum
Occasional travel (10%, possibly international) will be required to assist in supporting our customers
B.S. or higher in in any discipline
