Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Program Management Director in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Cadence is the leader in hardware emulation-acceleration technologies and products. Looking for an experienced program manager in managing large complex advanced system development programs. This position is located in our San Jose headquarter office and works in a growing talented organization.

Our emulation-acceleration system platform is the most advanced industry-leading configurable scalable system, generation after generation, used in labs and datacenters. The program manager is critical to the success of our system platform product development and productisation. Responsible for running complex system development programs. Work with cross functional leads including marketing, multi-disciplinary engineering, manufacturing, finance, and product engineering. Ensure smooth program execution, visibility of risks, and developing mitigation plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and scheduling project goals, milestones and deliverables.

  • Working with all the stakeholders to define and execute the engineering programs.

  • Communicate program requirements, priorities and decisions effectively.

  • Track and report program status. Anticipate, expose and address execution issues timely.

  • Guide cross-functional team in resolving conflicts and indecisions. Escalate when necessary.

  • Roll up resources for program execution, and expose resource and skill gaps.

  • Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation.

  • Plans the product life cycle deployment along with other leaders, with clear exit criteria.

  • Ensures the best practiced NPI (New Product Introduction) processes used in the development and deployment. Assure compliance to company standards and procedures.

  • Assist in budget planning and track expenses.


  • Proven success in program management of at least one system product from concept to production.

  • Demonstrated strong planning and project management skills in managing a complex system development program, consisting of IC, system hardware, firmware, and software.

  • Possess critical thinking. Agility in dealing fast changing customer requirements. Ability to distill relevant information for the right audience.

  • Expert with NPI process. Experience with SharePoint, Agile or similar NPI process management / communication tools.

  • Familiarity with volume manufacturing processes is a plus.

  • Energetic. Good communication, organization, analytical, presentation, and people skills.

  • 10 years of relevant experience. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Prefer to have taken Program Management course or training
