JOB DESCRIPTION:

The candidate will manage a vast range of programs/projects, ensure deliverables are regularly completed on time, within quality standards, and meeting senior leadership's expectations. They will have full responsibility for project execution across all NPD phases from the inception of the project concept through the product's global commercial release. They'll have responsibility for achieving milestone commitments by the examination and assessment of project challenges and will plan and controll project risk/issues related measures. You'll be leading matrixed employees/teams and/or consultants, achieving program objectives. This role is comprised of overall project monitoring and reporting inc. escalating to management as necessary.

This assignment runs through the end of July, 2021.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Has responsibility for the leadership of internally- and externally-resourced cross-functional project teams, such as initiating phase, the assembly of project teams, development of project plans, and control of project execution, ensuring timely completion of projects.

  • Utilizes effective project management techniques to independently execute on project deliverables such as managing scope, schedule, risk, and budget.

  • Driving day-to-day project activity, achieving results such as solving technical and other project challenges, managing resource conflicts, breaking down barriers to meet product quality, and company goals and objectives.

  • Ensuring all peripheral activities are planned, completed, and communicated to all stakeholders.

  • Preparing for and conducting project phase gate reviews.

  • Motivating and directing to Inspire teams to perform at their best and create new levels of pride and ownership in doing great work on tight timelines.

  • Creating and maintaining dashboards, reporting on the progress of projects to all stakeholders and the Leadership Team.

  • Providing input regarding the performance of individuals on project teams.

  • Ensuring projects are executed in accordance with applicable procedures and policies.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Seven or more years of experience managing technical programs/projects utilizing project management and product design & development frameworks. Our ideal candidate has a background supporting a business from the operational/product side, not the Information Technology side of the business

  • Having led complex capital equipment and high volume consumable development projects is desired

  • Candidates that have managed government contracts (e.g., SBIR/STTR) and working in a regulated industry (medical devices, pharmaceuticals) is preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

  • Advanced degree and advanced PM certification is preferred

  • Candidates who are motivated, committed, have perseverance and a sense of urgency

  • Able to facilitate meetings and presentations

  • Strong verbal/written skills to effectively communicate cross-functionally and to all levels

  • Experience with risk management, development and implementation of mitigation strategies

  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience w/ Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint
