Massachusetts Department of Revenue GensiSys Quality Assurance Analyst in Chelsea, Massachusetts

A&F IT is a unit under the Executive Office for Administration & Finance (A&F) and is overseen by the A&F IT Secretariat Chief Information Officer (A&F CIO). A&F IT is comprised of 198 employees working on IT systems and applications for 15 various A&F agencies. A&F IT oversees and provides all the IT application support for these agencies to ensure their IT operations are running effectively and efficiently. One of the key agencies within A&F is the Department of Revenue (DOR). DOR?s Tax Administration Division, with the support of A&F IT, has recently deployed an integrated tax system called GeniSys. GeniSys is based on GenTax, a COTS product developed by Fast Enterprises. A&F IT is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join the GeniSys team in the DOR IT Support Bureau. The QA Analyst will report to the Warehouse Lead within the GeniSys QA Team. The QA Analyst will not have any direct or indirect reports. The ideal candidate must be able to: Understand process design and technical requirements documentation. Work both independently and within a project team to design, develop and deliver on test plans for new and existing functionality. Write and execute clear, concise and comprehensive use cases and test plans. Design and execute regression test plans on an ongoing basis in response to frequent and rapid changes. Analyze and build data for test, triage defects to draw conclusions, define issues and make appropriate recommendations. Act as a reliable source for early feedback on new functionality and feature changes. Work with SQL server databases. Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced changing environment and juggle changing priorities. Work well with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Preferred qualifications include: 4-5 years of software testing experience. Proficiency in SQL Server database development techniques. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Superior organizational skills, self-driven with attention to detail and follow-through on tasks. Knowledge of tax business processes. Experience with GeniSys development toolset and processes. This position is assigned to A&F IT?s DOR IT Support Bureau, located at 200 Arlington Street in Chelsea, Massachusetts. This individual will work on site and remotely (as approved by their supervisor). Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in electronic data processing of which (B) at least two years must have been in work in which the major duties included computer systems analysis, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
