State of Massachusetts IT Software Asset Analyst in Chelsea, Massachusetts

The MA Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS) is the state’s lead office for information technology. We provide enterprise level information technology services including network management and security; computer operations; application hosting; desktop provisioning and management; and, modern and responsive digital services to 40,000 internal stakeholders plus the residents, business owners and visitors to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS) is seeking to hire anIT Software Asset Analyst. The primary role for the Software Asset Analyst will be in supporting the ongoing implementation of our emerging Software Asset Management (SAM) process within EOTSS for our diverse customers, to ensure day-to- day data integrity of the Asset Database by coordinating with the various lines of business support groups that make up EOTSS engineering and operations. The analyst is also responsible for assisting the Software Asset Manager in supporting the overarching Asset & Configuration management process. The Asset Analyst requires a high level of analytic skills, must be detailed oriented, and eager to learn new things. Demonstrating service excellence, a pro-active and collaborative approach to service delivery and a strong customer focus are all mandatory for this role. The primary work location for this role will be at 200 Arlington Street Chelsea, Massachusetts 02150. The work schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday, 9AM to 5PM. All offers of employment into this position are conditional and subject to passing: a Massachusetts Criminal Background Check (CORI); a security clearance (fingerprinting) consistent with IRS and/or public safety requirements; and security training. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): * Assist in the support of all implemented policies & procedures related to ITAM to ensure audit compliance and cost efficiency throughout their lifecycle. * Assist in the on-going multi-year roadmap to mature Software Asset Management to comply with the enterprise agreement and the usage right audit, which include: document end-user license agreement (EULA) and authorized user /device allocation, software entitlement true-up and license position reconciliation, software asset data governance, support renewal maintenance, and audit compliance, etc. * Maintain up-to-date asset supporting information in terms of financial and contractual information to support budget planning, procurement management, chargeback, and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for continuing improvement of IT operations * Proficient in using asset management and data analysis tools to govern software and hardware asset data integrity * Assist in asset receiving, annual inventory true-up and audit * Assist in hardware asset receiving, distribution, annual inventory true-up and audit Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * At least 2 years of hands on experience in managing IT hardware, software and support renewal contract lifecycle management, or equivalent experience * Demonstrated experience in managing IT hardware, software and support renewal contract lifecycle management, or equivalent experience * Demonstrated experience working with ServiceNow and the ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional applications (strongly preferred) * Familiar with logic data relationship built across the applications to support ITAM lifecycle management tools, which include: Assets, Software Licenses, Product models, Procurement , Contract management and CMDB. * Ability to solve problems independently with proper communication to management and process stakeholder * Ability to multi-task and prioritize with great initiative and can-do attitude. * Demonstrate ability to grasp new technologies quickly. * Proficient in MS Excel functions including Lookup functions, Pivot table, and Conditional formatting functions for mass data analysis and reconciliation Education and Certifications: * * Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience. * Software Asset management (SAM) certification * ITIL V3/V4 Foundations and ITIL Intermediate Certification is a plus *First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.Please see Preferred Qualifications.
