RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will have responsibility for the following in addition to miscellaneous assignments as needed.

  • Lead a small team in the development of software and databases for small and large scale construction projects

  • Develop software in support of Automated Logic controls installations

  • Develop software in support of ALC HVAC equipment control systems

  • Create and run system test software to ensure quality of developed code

  • Lead and participate in software inspections and design reviews

  • Investigate and address issues identified in installation

  • Develop, document, and execute integration test plans to ensure first time quality in deliveries to the installation team

  • Identify the root cause of, and resolve any issues identified by testing

  • Provide leadership in the project planning process (e.g. estimates for project plan tasks, resources, completion time, capital requirements, risks, expenses, etc.)

  • Develop clear and concise software design documentation

  • Create and maintain detailed systems integration library

  • Ensure team members execute the necessary design, process, and documentation steps to ensure a quality product

  • Participate with ALC leadership to help define the technology roadmap for future features and products for superior building control solutions

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a project team by interacting effectively with various engineering functions/disciplines; systems, hardware, validation/reliability and installation. Participate in project governance activities including technology maturity and risk identification reviews

Qualification:

  • 5 years of controls software development experience

  • Experience with software architecture and design patterns

  • Familiarity with control logic and debugging

  • Experience with configuration/change management

  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

  • Organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities

  • Proven ability to implement continuous improvements and standardize processes

  • Experience with various connectivity protocols (Bacnet, Modbus, Zigbee, etc.)

  • (HVAC) System Design Experience (preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience in control systems
