Danaher Corporation Senior CDx Program Manager - Remote in Danvers, Massachusetts

This position can be based in Danvers, MA or remotely.

This role has direct responsibility for the delivery of Companion Diagnostics (CDx) projects within the Pharma Partnerships Team and other supporting functions from conceptualization to commercialization in line with business needs, in a sophisticated global matrixed environment. While this role will have no direct line management responsibilities, this is a leadership role with responsibilities to mentor and lead through influence within the program team and advocate for the program team.

This position is crucial to ensure that assigned Companion Diagnostic Programs are executed in alignment with agreed upon on-time delivery metrics within the defined budget. You will be responsible for successfully identifying and communicating project risks and resulting countermeasures to our Pharmaceutical Partners. This position owns the coordination of stakeholder activities including the Danvers CDX Development Team, Pharma Partners, and associated Leica Biosystems partners from other functions and sites of the business.

Primary responsibilities will be to:

  • The program manager supports the CDx project/program with specialized knowledge, expertise and problem-solving skills to achieve on-time-deliver (OTD) targets. The program manager also navigates and resolves business obstacles that may arise.

  • Support the Pharma Partnership Business Development (BD) team by working with line functions to prepare accurate program timelines, budgets, and Statements of Works (SOWs) for CDx programs. As needed, provides program management expertise and knowledge during the pre-sales process and alliance management support for advanced programs.

  • Using analytical thought, contributes to defining, monitoring, and reporting of critical metrics and leading indicators to measure the success of the organization and identify risks/countermeasures.

  • Supports portfolio management by prioritizing and estimating resourcing needs for future work and identifying potential resource gaps of contracted and planned projects.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue forecasts with assumptions and defined risks and, at month end, report out actuals. Collaborate with Finance to standardize forecasting and reporting activities and improve process.

  • Development of standard work and processes to support the business and advocate for continuous process improvement. Learn and apply tools and standard methodologies from Danaher Business System (DBS) and engage team members in developing DBS skills.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Six plus years of solid experience in Project Management roles supporting companion diagnostics at pharmaceutical or biotech companies.

  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences, and relevant advanced degree and/or PMP certification; Advanced degree (MS / PhD), in subject areas such as biology, immunology or related field preferred

  • Experience using MS Project or similar project management software and waterfall project management methods is required; understanding of agile is a plus.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment and under design control. Understands the validation requirements for bringing a medical device through regulatory submission in NA or EU

  • Experience in preparing and executing statement of work documents and budgets

  • Outstanding ability to lead by influence and collaborate in a global environment with an appreciation for cultural nuances.


  • Uses CDx and product development knowledge to identify program level risks and issues; implement countermeasures; advocates for internal and external partners.

  • Enables a culture of inclusion and encourages team member contributions; Builds a program team environment of respectful listening, engagement and cultivates collaboration.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to flex style to achieve goals and accommodate audience

  • Understands drug development process and clinical trial process for drugs and/or medical devices

  • Understands expectations and explores how to seek out information and improve customer experience

  • Sees opportunities and leads teams in using DBS tools and models behavior in systematically working towards root cause


Potential for future travel is 20 – 25% to work with key internal partners.
