Computer Task Group is seeking a Software Engineer-UI for a remote contract opportunity.

We are seeking a talented programmer with expertise in web-based development and hands-on experience in developing, implementing, and supporting effective user interfaces. You will be part of a team building a large, multifaceted business application where a good user experience is essential. Most of the work involves writing code in TypeScript. While UX talents help, this is not a UX position.

Essential Responsibilities:• Building and supporting Web UI using TypeScript, HTML 5, jQuery, jQuery-UI, CSS 3, single-page-app architecture, and Ajax.• Building and supporting code in C# and consume the .NET Framework.• Support code with effective unit and integration tests.• Ability to create web services.• Work as part of a focused team and collaborate with other engineering teams as needed.• Adhere to architectural decisions and participate in code reviews.• Assist in maintenance and upgrades of existing software applications.• Provide support in all phases of SDLC and ensure to deliver high-quality products.• Analyze and troubleshoot application issues in a timely fashion.• Attend team meetings to communicate project status and discuss about new ideas and any issues.• Assist in technical audits and make sure to implement audit recommendations.• Work with QA team in preparing test cases, plans and procedures.• Participate in testing as part of the cross-functional team• Follow Agile/Scrum practices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Strong in HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, jQuery, C#, Visual Studio 2017 or later. TypeScript, jQuery-UI, and NUnit 3 a plus. We will allow coming up to speed on-the-job if you have similar skills.• .NET Framework libraries for web development with WCF preferred.• Jira, Confluence, Node.js, NPM, Grunt, Sonarqube, Jenkins, Artifactory a plus.• Strong experience writing Unit Tests.• Experience with writing User Stories and effectively communicating on User Story and Bug tickets.• Experience in Source Code management tools with Git preferred. GitHub a plus• Experience with design patterns of Dependency Injection, REST and SOLID/DRY all preferred.• Knowledge/Experience working with AWS is a plus.• Experience debugging JavaScript using tools like a browser’s Development Tools• Can quickly understand existing code.• Exhibits intellectual curiosity, emotional maturity, humility, and the willingness to learn and share technical information to enrich and strengthen the organization.• Understanding of Agile/Scrum practices preferred.

Work Conditions, Physical Demands:• Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment• Ability to communicate and exchange information• Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data• Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)• Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals• May be required to work extended hours for special business needs

Minimum Education: BS in Computer Science or related field preferred.

Required Function 6:Minimum Related Work Experience:• 5+ years’ experience designing, delivering and supporting production software• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale or complex commercial software systems• 3+ years in Visual Studio.• Proven experience using the Microsoft stack• 5+ years of Web-based UI development experience• 3+ years (or equivalent) Typescript or JavaScript• 2+ years of experience leading/mentoring engineers and other team members• Command of C# and .NET programming• Command of HTML 5, CSS 3, and other web technologies• Proven experience championing stakeholder expectations; delivering quality solutions within time and budget• Strong, practical OO experience, e.g., understanding and employing SOLID principles and design patterns.• Previous Agile experience a big plus
