General Scope and Summary

If so, you may be what Sage is looking for in an Associate Director, Compliance Officer, Digital Capabilities and Data Analytics. This is a role for someone who understands systems, loves data, works well with others, and is equally at ease when designing creative inquiries to drive novel insights as when presenting learnings to various levels of the organization. It will be the primary Compliance business partner for our Digital and Enterprise Capabilities team and the data guru of the Compliance team.
It is essential to this role that the candidate works well with people and technology in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The position requires an individual with an unwavering commitment to excellence that is coupled with a flexibility to adapt to business needs. The successful candidate has previously worked in or closely with Compliance. They will have a creative and robust approach to data-driven insights, the highest standard of integrity, will be mature and circumspect about confidential information, and will be passionate about the role of Compliance in the organization. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as is the desire and ability to excel in a multidisciplinary environment as an integral leader and member of project teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
Partner with a best-in-class Digital and Enterprise Capabilities team to guide development, integration, and usage of technologies and data in a way that reflects our values.
Manage a robust data analytics program and platform within the Compliance function, proactively identifying areas to enhance program and capabilities.
Leverage statistical analysis, machine learning, anomaly detection, and other data analytics skills to interpret and communicate data trends and insights.
Communicate data requirements and insights with technical and non-technical professionals.
Proactively engage cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and digital solutions.
Partner cross-functionally to continually identify areas requiring Compliance input or oversight.
Derive insights from multiple data sources to identify trends in business conduct.
Work across diverse systems and data sets to identify real-world intersections of teams and behaviors.
Analyze and interpret information in collaboration with others to assess activities and align resources, often making judgements in the face of incomplete information.
Present detailed quantitative analysis and qualitative insights to senior management.
Manage vendors to deliver technology solutions and data utilization in a cost-effective way.
Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations. Must have a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Bachelors’ degree required; graduate degree or certification in a related skill a plus.
6+ years of data analytics experience, preferably within the biopharmaceutical industry.
Experience working in or closely with a Compliance function.
Deep understanding of data and analytics processes.
Expertise in statistical modeling, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
In-depth knowledge of data visualization tools.
Familiarity with the laws, regulations, and industry guidance that affect the biopharmaceutical industry.

Demonstrated technical proficiency, creativity, independent thought, and ability to effectively collaborate.

Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
