Sage Therapeutics Associate Director, People Systems in EMAIL: Workday@Sagerx.com, Massachusetts

General Scope and Summary

SAGE Therapeutics is searching for a creative, resourceful, integrative thinker for an important role within Sage’s People & Experience team managing Sage’s People System (Workday) initiatives to deliver operational efficiencies, analytics and reporting, and technology strategies. This role will oversee, optimize, and integrate workflows, core processes and systems to meet the overall People and Culture strategy and provide a positive employee experience.

Roles and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Provides project management and oversight for HRIS ensuring Workday set up and configuration is accurate and maintained.

  • Provides oversight to Analytics and Reporting including data integrity audits.

  • Partner with the Head of People Operations and Analytics to expand Sage’s capabilities related to reporting and analytics – driving People & Experience towards predictive insights for P&E and the broader organization.

  • Provides cross-departmental leadership on Workday design and best practices. Acts as P&E lead on steering committee for system wide governance and HR data security.

  • Works with the team to troubleshoot advanced and complex Workday issues – finding resolutions and mentoring and teaching the staff in the process.

  • Supports leadership with special projects as needed.

  • Identifies service delivery issues and takes appropriate action; promotes performance improvement initiatives

  • Responsible for standardization and the use of best practices in P&E service delivery

  • Manages the ongoing administration of HCM systems, tools and vendors to ensure the effective administration of P&E processes

  • Oversees transactions in the Employee Operations lifecycle including on/off boarding, internal transfers, international mobility, pay changes, employee data changes, reorganizations and support high volume transactions, and local compliance issues

  • Partners with P&E capability hubs (Compensation, Benefits, Employee Experience, P&E Business Partners and Learning), DEC (Digital & Enterprise Capabilities), and functional leaders and the P&E Operations team driving continuous process improvement

  • Builds our data, reporting and dashboard strategy leading Sage towards predictive insights into workforce trends, using multiple data sources (e.g., people metrics, engagement surveys, exit interviews, financials, etc.)

  • Build and implement the roadmap and sustainable model for the continuing evolution of the use of technology via employee and manager self-service.

  • Engage with other functional areas to understand and provide HR support for technology projects that impact P&E processes and systems.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, ability to identify issues and raise to key stakeholders in order to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8 years of experience in HRIS – including at least 3 years of Workday and/or Workday implementation experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with Workday HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Time Tracking.

  • Experience with building predictive analytics.

  • Experience building scalable business processes leveraging employee and/or manger self-service.

  • Superior follow-through with a high-level of accountability for assigned tasks.

  • Operational experience with a strong customer service mindset

  • Strong data gathering, data analysis, problem solving, and analytical skills; proven ability to work successfully with data collection methods

  • People Operations and Systems expert with a balance of problem-solving skills, facilitation of different stakeholder needs, and a desire to effectively execute/implement solutions

  • Excellent analytical and technical skills with a high attention to detail; demonstrated strength in problem-solving and multi-tasking

  • Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders. An ability to influence for greater outcomes.

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
