The System Administrator is responsible for ensuring continuity of technology services for Blount internal customers by providing the planning, skills, and knowledge necessary to implement, support, maintain and troubleshoot technology solutions. The System Administrator I is depended upon to provide solutions to issues spanning every area of technology throughout the organization. Perform duties as a technical resource in a virtualized multi-site Microsoft Windows network responsible for supporting a rapidly growing manufacturing environment.

Vertical Wave Phone System
Administers and operates network hardware, software and operating systems.
Evaluate and recommend new solutions and technologies, hardware and software.
Plan and execute upgrades and migrations of servers and network infrastructure hardware and software.
Manages and supports an Active Directory environment including but not limited to user, group and computer management, organizational structure, group policies and Active Directory maintenance.
Responsible for SQL server and Exchange administration, maintenance, and backup.
Implement and maintain network security to the facilities.
Manage Sophos Antivirus and Antispam solutions.
Manage networked hardware (NAS, WAP’s tablets, mobile devices, etc.)
Provide user training to office staff including but not limited to software applications, hardware, policies and procedures, best practices, and security.
Maintain inventory of installed software, licenses, and hardware.
Contribute to and maintain internal IT knowledge base.
Maintain and manage phone systems including contracts, extensions, voicemail users and evaluate new communication solutions.
Manage and provide support for all voice/data communications.
Maintain hardware, software, and support warranties.
Ability to support off-hours will be required. Participate in IT on-call rotation providing 24x7 support to business customers.
Other duties with similar skill, work conditions, and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education and experience.
Three or more years’ experience functioning as a hands-on technical resource in virtualized multi-site MS Windows LAN/WAN.
MCSE/VCP certifications preferred.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Prior experience working for a small/medium sized company, comfortable with wearing many technology hats and responding to shifting priorities.
