The Arc of Opportunity VP of Day Supports in Fitchburg, Massachusetts

Job Title: Vice President for Day Supports FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary : The Vice President for Day Supports reports directly to the C OO and serves in an informational/advisory role to the Board of Directors. The VP of Day Supports is responsible for the development of vision and execution in accordance with the organization’s strategic plan, priority initiatives, mission and fundamental values in the day-to-day operation and management of all Day Support program services.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for implementing key objectives, ensuring high standards of direct care and ongoing monitoring and management of operations in assigned vocational and employment programs

  • Functional and situational reasoning ability to gather and apply factual information, exercise sound judgment, problem solve and apply principles of influence systems such as motivation, team building, accountability, coaching/counseling of staff and leadership within the scope of the position

  • Cross-functional communication skills which convey clear direction, desired results and vision to direct reports, individuals/families served, government agencies, peers and executive management

  • Ensure operational and service standard

  • Develop, implement and monitor management of objectives and systems

  • Develop and execute short/long term goals which enhance and support organizational strategic plan and priority initiatives

  • Ensure operational and service standard compliance with all federal, state and agency policies within all programs

  • Mathematical aptitude for budgetary, funding, cost benefits analysis and general business purposes

  • Develop and maintain programs and services authorized by the CEO

  • In partnership with the Human Resources Department, oversee hiring, terminatio ns, performance management, and supervision systems

  • Accountable for ensuring that all agency Day Support programs are developed and functioning in an effective and cost efficient manner while maintaining compliance and high standards

  • Generate additional funding sources through development of solid relationship building and favorable partnerships within the business community, legislative contacts, grant proposals and private sources

  • Enhance and promote The Arc of Opportunity brand, strategic initiatives and organization’s mission and fundamental values through positive promotion and representation while engaging in public relations.

  • Authorize program agreements and/or contracts to be entered into with other parties

  • In partnership with the CFO and Board of Directors, establish operating budget proposal and implement final authorized program budget effectively

    Qualifications :

  • Graduate degree in relevant field and a minimum of five years successful senior leadership experience, successful senior leadership experience in relevant health and human services field preferred

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable CORI/Fingerprinting are required
