Description:The Products organization of Leidos Cyber is seeking an experienced Scrum Master and Project Manager to lead key Product teams in delivering commercial cyber defense and compliance software systems.This role is part of a team of Scrum Masters/Project Managers who manage the organization’s Product portfolio.This position will be based out of our Foxborough, MA offices, where our product teams are primarily co-located.A successful candidate will possess hands-on Agile-Scrum experience and a proven track record of managing Scrum product teams to successful on-time deliveries.
Lead one or more agile development teams, ensure all activities apply the principles of Agile-Scrum framework.
Guide and coach the team to follow Agile/Scrum practices and to become self-organized.
Promote and encourage open & honest communication within the team and with stakeholders.
Assist in removing impediments, both internal and external to the team.
Help the team self-organize and adopt an attitude of continuous improvement. Look for ways to implement process improvements.
Facilitate all standard Agile-Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospective sessions.
Facilitate backlog grooming sessions, ensuring that a healthy backlog is maintained at all times, with at least 2-3 Sprints worth of prioritized ‘Sprint-Ready’ work.
Continuously use metrics to manage and communicate Scrum team activities, progress, and impediments to stakeholders.
Track status across projects and communicate any risks or concerns to stakeholders.
Work with Product Managers to review, manage, prioritize, and plan their high-level feature requests.
Work with the Product Owners and Technical Leads to understand and decompose Product Manager’s high-level feature requests into Sprint-sized User Stories.
Work with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Technical Leads on release planning and capacity/resource planning. This includes taking into account the unique skillsets and constraints of the Scrum team, and planning work accordingly.
Obtain a deep, hands-on understanding of the product and how it works, such that assistance can be provided in identifying missing features and in overall product verification.
When needed, assist with the authoring and review of acceptance criteria, including wireframes.
Be the primary coordinator for the cross-team ‘new product introduction’ (NPI) process.
Assist with the authoring and review of required release documentation - for example, release notes, user guides, training material.
Assist with functional and regression testing when needed.
QualificationsMinimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with some relevant working experience and specialized training that is commensurate with the assignment.
Minimum 8-10 years’ technical experience in the Software or IT field.
2-4 years’ experience with Agile-Scrum teams working as a Scrum Master and Agile project manager.
Experience with Confluence and JIRA (or similar Agile management tool) is a big plus.
Experience with a wireframing tool, such as Balsamiq or Sketch, is a plus.
Knowledge of or experience working in cyber security field is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of or experience working in the SCADA/OT space is a plus, but not a requirement.
Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent activities while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies, and risk.
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including confidence working with executive leadership.
Experience facilitating conflict resolution when needed among Product Managers, Product Owners, Technical Leads, and development team members.
Proven ability to adapt and maintain a flexible approach to changing needs or priorities.
Strong reporting and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skill with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
High level of initiative and self-motivation.
Ability to train and educate people in agile trends/ways of thinking.
Ability to apply creative solutions toward solving problems.
Strong analytical, leadership, organizational, and planning skills.
Excellent PC Skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
