Emerald is seeking a Web Editor to join its new Designwell365 Media Team in Framingham, MA or New York, NY. The Designwell365 brand, part of our Technology group, will aggregate existing and create new content targeting the commercial integration and IT professional markets. The Web Editor will support the growth of the Designwell365 brand through social media and ensure all content on the site is optimized for maximum visibility, while also developing new and aggregating existing content.
The Web Editor for Designwell365 will manage the publication of content to the brand’s website and push that content out through various social media including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. To effectively manage this role, the Web Editor must possess strategic depth in SEO as well as social media.
The Web Editor will also be responsible for creating 1-2 original content pieces per week. The majority of content for this brand will be aggregated from numerous Emerald brands and from across the internet, with the goal of generating pageviews and prompting audience members to download content, listen to podcasts, register for webinars, and view specific articles or videos, all while staying true to the brand’s voice and mission. Aggregated content will require additional development for SEO optimization.
The Web Editor should be passionate about digital media and helping trade publications grow. They must be self-sufficient, extremely organized, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities based on different timelines. A passion for technology is a huge plus for this position to fully engage with the mission of our brands. We anticipate opportunities for this role to grow into other areas of our brand, including writing, video, podcasting, custom campaigns, and more.
Aggregate, refurbish and publish multiple articles per day written by our editorial teams across relevant Emerald brands and optimize for SEO
Organize social media strategy for all content on the site, including customer campaigns, throughout content lifecycle
Create and send out multiple newsletters weekly
Create content aimed at generating pageviews and/or prompting audience to download or register for CI and TD content
Organize and moderate weekly podcast
Publish video content to YouTube and optimize for the platform
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
1-3 years’ experience in a comparable role
Significant understanding of SEO best practices
Ability to target language to specific audiences
Understanding of current, relevant social media platforms and how to grow a following
Experience with content management systems such as WordPress and marketing automation such as Marketing Cloud a plus
Experience with Adobe Suite, specifically Premiere and/or Photshop, a plus
Excellent verbal and communications skills. An understanding of the English language and grammar is necessary for this position
Passion for and understanding of the technology industry preferred
