Market Analyst

Randstad Sourceright, in collaboration with Bose Corporation, is seeking a Market Analyst to join the Corporate Strategy and Incubation team within Consumer Electronics.

The Corporate Strategy & Incubation group (CSI) at Bose works on the Corporation's most critical business and growth initiatives. The group's activities include Corporate Strategy, Customer & Market Insights, M&A, Internal & External Ventures. The Market & Competitive Intelligence team in CSI supports the core business units and innovation growth areas by providing insights to inform data-driven decisions about the markets and geographies where we do or could compete.

This Market Analyst role will drive the research and analysis of the Consumer Electronic Division's (CED) current and potential markets and competitive landscapes. This position leads market analysis and reporting on consumer market sizing in existing segments and product categories to identify future trends and conditions. This work will directly inform and influence the division's ongoing business planning and growth strategies. This individual will work closely with leadership as well as sales, marketing, product teams.

A high degree of business acumen, coupled with creativity and resourcefulness, are required. You will often serve as an internal expert, developing a deep understanding of the consumer categories and apply rigorous analytical methods to derive actionable recommendations. You must be adept at quickly learning about new markets, product categories, and technologies. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented market analyst who can transform raw data into meaningful insights, providing actionable recommendations that influence our stakeholders to act. This individual will be part of a team that applies market analysis, data visualization, competitive intelligence, and business strategy to strengthen Bose's position in the marketplace.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with key stakeholders to clearly understand and scope analytical requests

  • Analyze third party point of sale data for Bose and competitor products

  • Provide insight into the overall size, composition, and trends within a product category

  • Analyze changes to Bose and competitor performance, providing insight into the drivers of change to Bose market share

  • Provide insight into new product performance for both Bose and competitors

  • Support one or more product categories with ad hoc analysis to support business decisions

  • Leverage customer reviews and mobile app data to inform product and software teams about customer usage, sentiment, quality issues, etc. for Bose and competitors across different categories.

  • Create custom, targeted reports and dashboards that deliver insights into the current health of the business and opportunities for future growth

  • Leverage secondary information sources to provide long term forecasts of market trends and growth potential

  • Partner with internal data resources to ensure data integrity and availability to support analytical requirements

  • Lead market analysis, synthesize results, and develop and present strategic recommendations for the executive leadership team that inspire action

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


--Extensive background and demonstrated track record in obtaining and analyzing quantitative data to solve actual business problems

--Strong technical skills, including experience with query and data visualization tools. SQL and Tableau experience strongly desired.

--Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate statistical output in a manner that is engaging, understandable, and influential

--Enjoys working in a team environment as well as independently


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in business, finance, marketing, or related quantitative field

Work Experience:

  • 5+years of related market analytics experience in relevant consulting, finance, corporate development, sales operations, market intelligence functions

  • Previous experience in a consumer electronics environment, particularly in a technical field, is a definite plus
