Staples Project Manager, Transportation in Framingham, Massachusetts

Description

Position Summary:

The Project Manager is a key role that serves to provide technical advice and assistance on major revenue-generating and transformational initiatives across the supply chain and relevant business units.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of robust technical experience with a strong business acumen to handle complex situations and juggle multiple priorities. He or she must also have an ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, collaborate and interact within all levels of the organization, and exert influence without direct authority.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with key business partners to understand critical, complex, data-driven business and operations challenges, and then work closely with analytical teams to solve them – resulting in a significant, positive impact on the Staples’ bottom-line.

  • Manage implementation of major revenue-generating and transformational initiatives from development to execution to support future growth and increase overall effectiveness of organization

  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc data analyses to provide synthesized information for day-to-day business management and decision making

  • Develop business cases, support financial models and influence Leadership to support rapid initiative implementation

  • Communicate results to executive leadership

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Statistics plus 1-3 years industry experience

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience with developing data analytics reporting and Business Intelligence Tools

  • Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability

  • Proven track record of building discounted cash flow models, with inter-disciplinary skills

  • Hands-on experience with querying databases in order to drive required analysis independently and swiftly

  • Excellent ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing big data analytics reporting on Tableau, Micro Strategy, Power BI dashboards with expertise in Big Data

  • Experience working with Business Intelligence Tools such as SQL, R, Teradata, Hadoop, Python, MicroStrategy, Magento, Alteryx, Tableau, Qlikview

  • Experience with various areas of the supply chain such as customer order, inventory, warehouse, and transportation management

  • Experience with financial modelling

  • Exposure analytical techniques such as optimization and machine learning

  • The ability to think big, manage ambiguity to move quickly and deliver results in an entrepreneurial environment

  • Flexible and resourceful, and easily adaptable to changes in environment and prioritization

  • Possess excellent business judgment, and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done
