Staples Sr Manager Software Engineering Promo Pricing Platforms in Framingham, Massachusetts

Enterprise Data, Analytics & Architecture provides the data, systems, and architecture to enable a data driven organization. He/She is responsible for leading engineering team’s delivery of software products and services that support Staples promotional and pricing strategy and its operational execution.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build and mentor teams of engineers and software development managers

  • Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate project risks to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead technical feasibility, implementation approach, deployment strategies, and QA efforts

  • Support business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities; addressing high priority initiatives (tech feasibility, implementation alternatives.); identify short term/long-term solutions and lead cross-functional partnership.

  • Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Java (Spring), HTML/CSS, TypeScript and SQL, Open-Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services

Qualifications :

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 8 years of experience in software engineering

  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

  • At least 5 years of people management experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

  • Highly skilled in the software development life cycle, software architecture and writing software

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree

  • 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL

  • 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service

  • 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks

  • Bias for action and a natural ability to work around impediments

  • Experience building multiple concurrent projects of high technical complexity

  • E-comm experience
