Applied Materials Electrical Engineer III in Gloucester, Massachusetts
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER III
You will be designing electrical circuits and systems consisting of instrumentation, high voltage, power, and control system designs for use in large scale capital equipment. Projects will include New Product Development and Continuous Improvement, and will be a team approach with Mechanical, Software, and other Electrical Engineers. The successful candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment filled with technical challenges.
Responsibilities include:
Design or modify electrical/electronic engineering assemblies, layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope
Execution of all project phases from conceptual designs through detailed design, prototype part procurement, development test, reliability test, and release to manufacturing
Delivery of technical presentations in support of product proposals and engineering design reviews
System level design to integrate instrumentation, controllers and power supplies into major machine level assemblies
Define, coordinate, perform and generate system and reliability tests of circuit boards, controllers, and electro-mechanical assemblies
Problem identification and troubleshooting a variety of complex electrical problems with limited supervision
Generate electrical product specifications
Documentation of electrical parts and assemblies for release into medium volume production systems
Packaging of custom or off-the-shelf components into modular chassis
Cable and harness design
Knowledge of grounding and shielding techniques
Power distribution and system interlock design
Evaluation of system designs for cost and manufacturability performance targets
Mentoring junior engineers
Qualifications may include:
Circuit design of analog, digital and FPGA circuits for printed circuit boards to interface to instrumentation, high voltage power supplies, and motion control systems
Circuit analysis software experience
High Level digital design language (Verilog, VHDL)
Laboratory instrumentation (Oscilloscopes, Logic/Timing Analyzers, DVM’s) experience
LabView Software
Knowledge of high voltage (100KV) design
Control Loop Analysis (stability, gain and phase margin)
Robotics experience (motors, encoders, amplifiers, motor tuning)
Requirements:
BSEE or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years related experience
Limited travel within the US, Asia, and Europe
