Job Description

The Unstructured Storage division is the leader of scale-out object and file solutions including PowerScale, ObjectScale and Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) products. The hardware platform architecture team monitors and influences industry technology trends, partners with product management to identify and prioritize product requirements and works with cross-functional engineering teams to align platform designs to maximize each product’s strengths. The team manages development, qualification and support of the hardware to ensure we deliver the highest quality and best experience to our customers.

Role Responsibilities

Supports the hardware architecture team to deliver a complex storage appliance with the highest quality and best in class features. Works cross-functionally to track, manage and close design issues for both new product introductions (NPI) and in-market (IM) activities. Performs lab operations to support performance testing, customer failure replication, network configuration and hardware component qualification. Performs qualifications on hardware components (Drives, DIMMs, cables, switches, etc.), BIOS, firmware, drivers and OS. Works cross-functionally to determine hardware needs of engineering teams, tracks orders and budgets. Explores new technology roadmaps to gain better understanding of industry trends and applies them to Unstructured Storage platform architectures. Essential Requirements

  • Solid knowledge and application of engineering concepts and problem solving skills

  • Hardware design expertise

  • Ability to analyze information and draw accurate conclusions

  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of Intel based architecture

  • Knowledge of hard drive, SSD, DIMM and/or other storage devices

  • Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments

  • Networking experience

  • 2+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent experience
