The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.
The position is for a Support Escalation Engineer to work in a team providing expert level enterprise product high level support (level/tier 3+) as part of the RP Engineering Group to a world-wide customer base.
-Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of related experience (IT environment as System Administrator or product support) OR MS without experience OR equivalent experience (4+ years)
-Solid Knowledge and experience with:
1) Operating Systems: Linux and Windows
2) Networking: TCP/IP, UDP Protocols, infrastructure
3) VMware environments (ESX, VC, VSphere, etc.)
Knowledge and experience with:
-SAN storage arrays (EMC, IBM, HP, Hitachi, etc.)
-SAN infrastructure: switches, Fiber Channel, SCSI and ISCSI protocols
-Familiarity with applications and databases (SQL, Exchange, Oracle)
-Scripting – Bash/Perl/Python
-Skilled or proficient in VMware networking
Problem solving and analysis skills
Customer facing skills, service oriented
Self-learning of new technologies
