Dell Senior Manager, Lab Support Engineering in Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Manager to coordinate installations, preventive and remedial maintenance of servers and storage equipment located within the LAB computing environment. Creates and insures adherence to administrative policies and procedures. Provide a high level of technical expertise and support to engineers and development managers. Works with engineering departments to develop and planned deployments of hardware configuration test setups in support of software development efforts. Demonstrates a high degree of self-initiative. Must be able to adapt to the changing daily priorities in a fast paced engineering lab environment. Performs other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage lab team(s) responsible for the configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of various engineering hardware, software and networking systems

  • Coordinates installations, preventive and remedial maintenance of servers and storage equipment

  • Reviews metrics and drives SLA compliance with engineering teams

  • Tracks progress, drive mitigations and coordinates escalations

  • Provides business reporting to executive management

Essential Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of Storage, Server, SAN and Networking technologies

  • Proven ability to lead multiple teams and manage technical talent

  • 3 years’ experience of Technical Program Management

  • 3 years’ experience of people management

  • Proven ability to work with global teams

  • Ability to manage functional goals and objectives

  • Ability to drive lab standards, policies and procedures

  • Bachelors + 7 years technical experience

Desirable Requirements

  • Exposure to converged or hyper converged systems,

  • Experience with Service Now , SAP and Infoblox applications Program Management skills: PMI, Six Sigma, ITIL or Agile/SCRU M
