Dell Senior Principal Engineer, Solutions Architecture in Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Key Responsibilities

  • Create architecture solutions and designs that are offered and can be operated in a cloud-like fashion; drives services supportability into each solution and offering

  • Participate in design collaboration sessions with various Dell organizations including product engineering on the roadmap of features and implication on cloud offer

  • Understand the industry and competitive environment for Cloud Services and the derivation of a Cloud Product Strategy

  • Deliver actionable recommendations to product managers based on collected data and in-depth analysis

You will define architecture blueprints for as-a-service offerings; make complex infrastructure concepts intuitive, straightforward, and easy to consume. Influence/sell/present the preferred architectures and alternatives to peers and executives; integrate insights from multiple sources in a cohesive way, craft a compelling story, and present to executive stakeholders. Identify new growth areas, open spaces, new technology, and emerging service opportunities for Cloud Services. Work across all functional areas (strategy, architecture, engineers, operations, finance, and risk), gathering inputs, updating product plans and roadmaps, and communicating the impact of product/solution decisions to all stakeholders. Essential Requirements

  • Be an independent thinker, self-motivated, visual storyteller, and executive presenter. Have excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends

  • 8+ years' experience in infrastructure and IT services, or relevant role within the technology industry. 6+ years if a graduate degree

  • Possess the technical knowledge and business understanding well enough to identify/define Services direction, requirements & gaps. Possess a track record of having successfully delivered on complex projects and possess global experience. Proven track record as a decisive, action-oriented individual, who has led cross-functional global teams to define and achieve high-value objectives. This individual will have the ability to coalesce varied constituents and drive to achieve superior results consistently.

  • Possess the technical knowledge and business understanding to identify/define Services direction, requirements & gaps. Possess a track record of having successfully delivered on complex global projects.

  • Team player with a proven ability to drive change through influence and collaboration across a matrix organization in a highly fluid environment.

Desirable Requirements

  • Prior experience with any of the following: Managed Services, Infrastructure (e.g., servers, storage, data protection, converged infrastructure, hyper-converged infrastructure), Everything-as-a-Service, Cloud operating models, Hybrid Cloud solutions

  • Technical understanding of digital transformation concepts and their use cases is preferred

  • DevOps / SRE operating models
