Dell Senior Principal Product Technologist in Hopkinton, Massachusetts
The Dell Data Protection Division team is looking for a senior principal level Product Technology Developer (Corporate Systems) who is a Storage Backup and Recovery subject matter expert. This is a highly visible role for a highly technical and creative person that is looking to contribute in a fast-paced environment. You become the voice of the customer and the field and provide deep-knowledge and excellent technical feedback directly to our product management, development, marketing and steady state programs. You see the new product innovation before the world sees it and becomes the foremost expert in your role and become the advocate for Dell's products both internally and externally.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
-Responsible for alpha and beta programs execution, planning and preparation.
-Develop and maintain customer relationships to understand their needs then communicate back to Dell’s development and product management teams.
-Provide technical product articles, documentation, white papers, presentations, demonstrations, trade show participation, field sales and customer consulting, and customer briefing presentations.
-Develop and provide leading-edge and ongoing product education using video conferencing, formal education, regional office visits and 2nd level technical consulting support for the sales help desk.
-Provide technical consulting and installation advice with on-site customer presentations for field and professional services.
-Advise on future product enhancements to product management and engineering.
-Provide technical work direction and training to other staff members and deliver presentations at customer and SE meetings.
-Conduct demonstrations in support of the Briefing Center.
-Provide technical work direction and training to other staff members and deliver presentations at customer briefings and SE meetings.
-Consult with customers and Dell personnel on technical analysis and feedback of perceived products strengths and weaknesses.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
-Strong technical knowledge in Data Domain, eCDM, Networker, Avamar and/or complimentary technologies.
-Extensive knowledge in VMware products and Cloud Services---CRITICAL
-Exceptional customer facing skills with experience in technical and pre-sales engagements in the back-up and recovery business area.
-Ability to drive the future of emerging products in the Storage Backup and Recovery space and be the advocate for the field and customer needs.
-Ability to provide in-depth product technical leadership to our field pre & post sales organization and engineering in support of worldwide sales effort.
-Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a workgroup.
-Possess an understanding of business environment
-Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.
-Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree with 6+ years OR PhD with 3+ years OR equivalent experience.
