Our Software Engineering team delivers next-generation storage products and solutions for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for Dell’s midrange storage products — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners. As a Software Quality Engineer 2, you will get the opportunity to work with our world class talent in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with software developers to design tests of new features in the areas of SCSI protocols, SAN attach, and Data Mobility

  • Develop automated tests in Python using a testing framwork

  • Use solid test development methodologies to provide building-block level tests, reusable test components, common test helper scripts, etc.

  • Investigate test failures in nightly regression test suites, root cause errors in test scripts, determine product vs test issues

  • Interface with the test framework team, test architects, and other test teams to contribute to a quality strategy for the product

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelors in Computer Science and/or Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience developing automated test programs in Python

  • Ability to drive the design of tests, understand software features, and devise appropriate test cases

  • Familiarity with test frameworks

  • Expertise in software test methodologies, developing extensible and reusable test components

  • Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, and ESX-based systems

Desirable Requirements

  • Storage / SAN attach / iscsiadm experience

  • Knowledge of storage protocols, e.g. SCSI, iSCSI, FC

  • Experience with Agile / Scrum software development methodology

  • Familiarity with UTMS, Jira, Rally, and/or Git
