Our Software Systems Engineering team ensures that our customers have the software systems they need for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and deliver software systems modifications as well as enhancements of new products. We oversee product development at all stages: planning, designing, developing and testing operating systems, compilers, routers, utilities, databases, embedded management and control devices, plus internet-related tools.
As a member of the E-Lab Engineering Team, this person will lead the testing, certification, and validation of Dell EMC end-to-end storage solutions and applications on an optimized Dell EMC scale infrastructure.
The individual will primarily be responsible for working with the Dell EMC product teams to: architect/design the test environment, develop test plans, develop timelines, as well as maintain the technical discussions with the partners and customers.
Mentor junior members of the team and provide technical guidance.
Accountable for all scale projects related to the team
Lead contributor to the team and can work with consultative direction.
Individual will be responsible for leading, configuring, and optimizing the physical environment used during testing
Maintenance and upgrade of the said environment is also held accountable
Performance analysis of the application and storage technology used will be required
As part of the integration and qualification, this person will be responsible for executing test suites, analyzing the results, reporting findings and documenting resolution for any defect.
This individual will also have an opportunity to develop scripting tools that will assist the group in its testing through the automation of some of the testing tools.
The individual must have the ability to troubleshoot software / hardware issues and execute test procedures with high quality criteria.
The individual is responsible for creating and maintaining working documents, White papers, Solutions guides, and any other required documentation.
Bachelors or Masters or equivalent in EE/CE/CS
Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
Problem identification, analysis, tracking and follow-up skills as well as ability to learn and apply new tools and applications
Virtualization technologies (VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V) i.e. VCP or equivalent
Cisco/Brocade - SAN/Networking concepts
Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
Good system integration and project management skills
Ability to work in a remote team environment.
Ability to prioritize and organize project tasks
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills
Development and mentorship of fellow colleagues.
• Working experience with various protocols (TCP/IP, FC, iSCSI, FCoE) is desired.
• Familiarity with Host to SAN connectivity concept (SAN switches, zoning, LUN masking) is desired.
• Related experience with host based applications is desired.
• Working knowledge of database technologies (Oracle, SQL, DB2, VDI and etc.)
• Working knowledge of different workload generation tools (IOmeter, LoadRunner, SQLIO, etc.)
