Emerson Engineering Specialist in Lawrence, Massachusetts
As an Engineering Specialist, you will support continuous improvement while pursuing opportunities to increase the operating efficiency of the Value Stream, seek out cost reductions through design changes or standardization of materials, parts and processes. The Engineering Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to manufacturing, sales, marketing, product engineering and customers by reviewing customer specifications and design to help facilitate orders throughout the manufacturing process.
As an Engineering Specialist, you will
Provide technical support via direct communication to Sales, Marketing, and Product Engineering and customers.
Review and approve modifications to products and process, and document changes.
Execute the engineering steps necessary to complete the processing of product orders following established order processing procedures and guidelines.
Conduct and document design analysis as required, identify design alternatives as appropriate, and resolve any conflicts relative to design.
Responsible for the design review for processing non-conformance reports.
Responsible for reviewing specification deviations required by manufacturing, to aid in inventory reduction and control and to facilitate manufacturing processes.
Support continuous improvement through pursuing opportunities to increase the operating efficiency of the Value Stream. Seek out cost reductions through design changes or standardization of materials and parts.
Seek out ideas for product or process enhancement.
Review and approve product documentation.
Provide Engineering support to customers for installed products.
Pursue and support cost reduction activities to achieve plant goals.
Support Manufacturing to resolve problems relating to molding, stock prep, trim or other design or quality related issues. Record and report findings, make corrections and help develop permanent solutions, and maintain documentation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, or equivalent experience.
AutoCad, Solidworks, or an equivalent modeling software experience preferred.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to systematically use them to solve problems.
Effective oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Familiar with computer-aided design as well as an ability to read technical drawings and flow diagrams.
Ability to work independently, resolve technical and manufacturing issues with limited direction, and work as part of a team.
Capability to accurately and efficiently work on multiple projects.
Strong analytic work methodology and problem-solving skills
Ability to proactively identify and resolve engineering and manufacturing related issues and understand elastomer, fabric, and molding processes.
Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
