The Security Services Department's overall mission is to ensure a safe and secure environment and protect MIT Lincoln Laboratory at all facilities in which staff members perform their mission of research and development. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.
Compartmented Program Security Risk Assessor
Selected candidate will be responsible for the administration of the Laboratory’s compartment program self-inspection/audit program. A motivated, self-starter with a minimum of 3-5 years (preferred) in a Compartmented Security related field, excellent analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience interpreting Government regulations desired. Organization, attention to detail and strong administrative record keeping skills required. Candidate with lead tracking of metrics and will keep security management aware of trends and areas warranting improvement. Must have TOP SECRET clearance to be considered.
Will work with Special Security Representatives to assess security posture as it relates to compartment program administration
Schedule and conduct inspection pre-briefings and execute self-reviews.
Prepare inspection results for management awareness and action.
Verify compliance with applicable security policies and procedures.
Provide advice and assistance on classification management, marking and handling, transmission and other security policy guidance.
Liaison with government representatives, identify inspection trends, take corrective actions and track status as required.
Maintain Laboratory wide situational awareness dashboard for compartmented program Risk Assessment program.
Requirements, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Security, or related field required with professional or military training in a classified environment.
3-5 years of security administration to include project management experience and conducting audits and reviews preferably within a compartmented security program environment.
Experience with using DoD audit and inspection tools.
Candidate must be able to operate independently with little supervision in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
Ability to successfully identify, follow-up and resolve problems and issues.
Must be well organized, thorough and handle competing priorities.
Able to digest large volumes of information and apply a variety of concepts to form cohesive policies and procedures in a growing and changing environment using sound risk management principles.
Working knowledge of PCs and associated business software such as Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must be able to provide briefings to large groups. Prepare and present security awareness courses, seminars, and general security education briefings as required.
Position may require some local and overnight travel.
Must have thorough working knowledge of and technical experience with the application of the DOD SAP Manual and/or Intelligence Community Directives
Experience working and interfacing with federal/government agencies and/or defense contractors.
Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information including compartmented programs.
Must be able to respond to off-hour emergencies as needed.
The position requires an individual with excellent oral and written communications skills, and a proven ability to meet deadlines and perform according to regulations in a fast-paced work environment.
Selected candidate will be subjected to a pre-employment background investigation and possess a current in scope Top Secret level security clearance with compartmental program eligibility.
