MIT Lincoln Laboratory Digital Engineering Center - Project Manager in Lexington, Massachusetts
The Engineering Division works in partnership with all the other Laboratory technical divisions to design and build advanced technology systems of national importance. We embrace the use of digital technology to aid in our work and are undergoing a Digital Engineering transformation. The Digital Engineering Center has been established to provide a centralized approach to grow capability and adoption of digital engineering practices n prototype development. We are looking for a talented individual to help manage our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) efforts.
MIT LL is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Project Stakeholders, including but not limited to Sr. Leadership, Project Champions, the project team and end users to manage the successful delivery of initiatives. The ideal applicant has worked previously in an engineering or research driven environment and have experience with PLM and or enterprise applications.
Candidates should be enthusiastic, motivated self –starters able to work independently with little supervision
Ability to lead dynamically and energize multidiscipline work teams, to learn and apply new skills and techniques to respond to business needs.
Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with customers, associates, vendors and management.
Minimum bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of experience
Execute projects and or programs using standard methodology, templates, tools and framework for effective project performance
Communicate project/program progress, issues, risks and results to the project stakeholders.
Direct and facilitate development of business case, Work Breakdown Structure, project plan, communications plan, and requirements metrics with the input from the project teams.
Manage scope, schedule, risks, issues and changes while always striving to minimize exposure and risk across multiple projects.
Hold regular meetings with project teams including project kick off and close out meetings, set agendas, document and communicate meeting notes and action items.
Provide project/program status reporting to stakeholders, ISD management and Laboratory senior management.
Act as the single point of contact for third party vendors working closely with vendor PMs to ensure on time and on budget completion of agreed upon deliverables.
Qualifications - Required
Experience executing multi-year, multi-phase infrastructure, product deployment, enterprise systems and application development or equivalent programs and projects.
Practical experience of proven Project Management Methodologies, specifically PMBOK Waterfall and Agile
Proven ability to work with functional managers, technical leads and cross functional teams
Proficient in project management software - Microsoft Project Professional.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Exposure or certification in ITIL Foundations
Project management methodology development and or continuous improvement to an existing process
Experience in an engineering or research driven environment and have experience with Aras Innovator, PLM, and/or enterprise applications
