Fresenius Medical Care North America Director Cybersecurity Training and Awareness in Lexington, Massachusetts
POSITION FEATURES:
THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
This role leads and directs the training and professional development function within the Corporate Cybersecurity program. This leader has responsibility for the training and development policies and processes, as well as the management, administration and availability of the cybersecurity training and awareness programs. The responsibility for training is partly owned by Human Resources; accordingly, this role acts as a liaison between the Cybersecurity function and assigned areas of responsibilities within operations (i.e., Human Resources).
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work to develop and implement comprehensive security awareness programs to educate and train employees on security best practices.
Champion an employee-centric approach ensuring timely, relevant, and effective delivery of cybersecurity education and awareness initiatives.
Educate and empower employees on the secure and ethical use of emerging technologies, such as generative AI, promoting responsible innovation that enables and protects our company
Oversee the execution of security programs and projects, ensuring successful outcomes and alignment with business objectives.
Establish and maintain metrics, reporting, and dashboards to track security performance and communicate with key stakeholders.
Oversee the design, development, and execution of phishing campaigns to test and improve the organization's resilience against social engineering attacks.
Develop playbook for the Information Security Office with detailed action plans for crisis situations.
Collaborate with partners in Global Communications to coordinate internal and external communications related to crisis communications, security incidents, strategies, and achievements.
Enhance the positioning and visibility of cybersecurity executive leadership, policies and standards.
Develop and foster ongoing relationships with stakeholders throughout the company to proactively address cybersecurity training needs, awareness of technological advancements, and emerging security threats.
Utilize exceptional communication, facilitation, and consensus-building skills to gain support for security engineering, awareness and training initiatives.
Manage security budgets, allocating resources effectively to support security initiatives.
Attract and retain security talent, provide leadership and development opportunities, and ensure optimal team performance.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic leadership of short- and long-term goals through thoughtful techniques in communicating the company’s mission and core values to implement positive change and/or create organizational structure within the assigned business unit(s).
Lead operational efforts through subordinates to complete the administration of business processes and services to ensure the operations effective achievement of goals within the assigned business unit(s).
Direct and control the broad activities of the business unit(s) through the interpretation, application and implementation of company-wide policies and processes appropriate to the functional area(s).
Ensure that budgets and schedules are within company requirements with significant organizational responsibility for the overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priority management, and recommendation and implementation changes of current methods.
Develops, modifies and executes company policies that affect immediate operations, with potential company-wide effect.
Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
Interacts frequently with internal departments and external customers/vendors; particularly in problem resolution. Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.
Effectively communicates departmental, divisional, organization, and industry information to staff.
Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization’s overall mission.
Participates in educational programs, seminars, and conferences. Keeps current on literature and standards pertaining to areas of responsibility.
Provide leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.
Collaborate with employees in the establishment of clear and concise development plans to ensure succession planning and the advancement of future leaders within the organization.
Technically proficient leader in the specific department and knowledge of industry practice and business principles. Has a large range within a department or multiple departments.
Solid strategic planner; ability to benchmark both needs and solutions in order to build and provide a competitive, modern training and development program.
A strong tactical decision-maker when necessary; Handles unforeseen issues.
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
Has significant program or project responsibility generally within the function.
Evaluation of efficacy of training.
Provide technical guidance.
Assist with various projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION :
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS :
10+ years’ related experience.
5+ years’ experience as a Manager; or 5+ years’ experience in a senior managerial role.
Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments.
Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills required for effective and creative leadership in working with all levels within the organization.
Working knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory requirements in drug and device quality, preferred.
Able to lead, support, and build on current efforts of the various departments.
Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies and regulators.
Possesses good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with computerized systems.
Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, integrity, and diplomacy.
Strong training skills.
