Seeking a Director to join our Portal applications team bringing a wide variety of application and platform development experience. Including: Java, Wordpress,

workflow platform, IBM Document Management System and OnBase Campaign Management System. Experience with Identity Access Management systems a plus.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Direct, organize, and control the development, testing, implementation and maintenance of IT Portal Applications programs and projects in accordance with established goals of FMCNA. Oversee the technical management of all world-wide-web sites.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for directing the IT Portal Applications and functions for internal FMCNA customers.

  • Defines and manages the setting of Portal based standards for the enterprise. Evaluates competing technology products to fulfill the needs of the enterprise as needed.

  • Provide strategic leadership of short- and long-term goals to the internet and intranet development groups through the use of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company’s mission and core values as a means to implement positive change and/or create organizational structure within the assigned business units.

  • Direct the design and implementation of enterprise-wide Portal based security in support of the business.

  • Ensure the optimization of the web architecture for navigability by ensuring editorial ownership of the content, quality and style of the site.

  • Review IT Portal applications project requests. Participate with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Develop strategies for direct departments, and contributes to the development of divisional/business unit strategies.

  • Interprets and provides recommendations for change of company-wide policies and practices. Establishes policies appropriate for the function.

  • Significant organizational impact responsible for the overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priority management, and recommending and implementing changes to current methods. Ensures that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce.

  • Responsible for managing a functional area on a national level, or multiple functional areas within a company division. Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several lower department managers within the company.

  • Strategic leader with broad-based knowledge in individual departments, and strong knowledge of industry practice and business principles. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation and training materials for complete system development lifecycle.

  • Participates in, and occasionally leads cross-functional quality team efforts to improve IT related processes.

  • Assist with various projects as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Intranet and Internet development staff.

EDUCATION :

Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • 10+ years’ related experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Manager; or 5+ years’ experience in a senior managerial role.

  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.

  • Proven knowledge in Portal design and support.

  • Proven knowledge of Internet and Intranet sites designs.

  • Proven leadership, organizational and planning skills.

  • Proven experience in operational IT Environment.

  • Experience with Web based development tools, languages and platforms.

  • Experience with application development and software development life cycle methodologies and best practices.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
