Job Description:
Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Rapid Prototyping group. The Electrical Engineer will focus on delivering new advanced technology capabilities in timelines typically under a year. The Electrical Engineer will work on projects in a team environment consisting of various subject matter experts and leverage resources from multiple groups to successfully execute fast-paced demonstration efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Design, develop, and test electrical devices and equipment including communications systems, power generators, motor and navigation systems, and electrical systems for automobiles and aircraft.
Oversee the manufacturing of these device systems and equipment.
Design new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products.
Perform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
Perform direct manufacturing, installation, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes.
Investigate complaints from customers or the public and evaluate problems and recommend solutions.
Work with project managers on production efforts to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
Design electronic components, software, and products or systems for commercial industrial medical military or scientific applications.
Analyze customer needs and determine electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost to develop a system plan.
Develop maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment.
Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair.
Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations.
Plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience working with small engineering and software teams.
Experience with electronic designs for low power and battery-operated systems.
Knowledge and experience with analog circuits and sensors, digital circuits and sensors, and digital interfaces.
Prior experience with embedded software development for microcontrollers.
Experience with electro-optics, RF sensors, and communication protocols.
Knowledge and experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) schematic capture and layout tools, NVidia Jetson, GPU products, and FPGAs.
Ability to architect, design, and program FPGA inputs and systems.
Prior experience with FPGA debugging and prototyping.
Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however an active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
