Fresenius Medical Care North America Global Head of Agile Transformation in Lexington, Massachusetts


Responsible for development, enhancement, implementation, and support of data management infrastructure for FMCNA’s assigned business unit. Implements a strategic and operational plan for product development that addresses: company mission, customer and patient needs, organizational data and analytics, regulatory issues, quality improvement, performance, human resources, and information management. Applies extensive knowledge to manage technology development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing technology applications and databases.


  • Works with the assigned business unit within FMCNA, as well as other Fresenius stakeholders and external contacts as appropriate and required to anticipate future needs and opportunities.

  • Provides input and experience on the architecture, design and evaluation of application data management, data warehouse and information delivery solutions, including tool selection, migration strategies, and risk mitigation.

  • Stays up to date on innovations at biotechnology companies, healthcare-focused software operations, provider systems and others. Conducts outreach and integrate technologies and methods where appropriate.

  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company.

  • Manages assigned activities related to development and maintenance of technology solutions, including analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and maintenance. Represents product development needs and issues.

  • Coordinates with peers from other clinical and IT groups to ensure successful design, planning and completion of programs and projects.

  • Leads operational efforts to complete the administration of business processes and services to ensure the operations effective achievement of goals within the assigned business units.

  • Directs the broad activities of the business unit through the interpretation, application and implementation of company-wide policies and processes appropriate to the functional areas.

  • Ensures a consistent approach of organizational policies and procedures.

  • Ensures that budgets and schedules are within company requirements.

  • Strategic leader with broad-based knowledge in individual departments, and strong knowledge of industry practice and business principles.

  • Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Develops strategies for direct departments, and contributes to the development of divisional/business unit strategies.

  • Regularly interacts with executives, senior management, and/or major customers. Interactions frequently require special skills such as negotiating or influencing customers and/or senior level leaders in matters of significance to the organization.

  • Responsible for managing a functional area on a national level, that may have long-term expansion to the global level. Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area.

  • Provides technical guidance.

  • Determines staffing requirements for data infrastructure/management team. Works with leadership, Human Resources, and Compensation to develop job descriptions and recruit for necessary positions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Requires travel of up to 20% to other offices, meetings and customer sites.


  • May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Software Development staff.


  • Bachelor’s Degree; Advanced Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience


  • 10+ years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Director; or 5+ years’ experience in a senior managerial role.

  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.

  • Clear understanding of software development life cycle and quality assurance processes.

  • Clear understanding of software design and development across multiple platforms.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities at a strategic and functional level.

  • Proven experience developing complex technical products.

  • Strong organization skills with the ability to present technical decision support in a consistent and relevant manner.
