Job Description

Solidus is searching for a Software Engineer who will develop and maintain software tools to perform data analysis tasks involving radar sensor sidecars including but not limited to Aegis Weapon System (AWS) data recording, extraction, reduction, conversion, parsing, plotting, visualization, and data formatting to enable play-back through advanced algorithms developed by Technical Staff to support advanced algorithm development & evaluation for AWS studies. The Engineer will ensure and maintain network connectivity between radar sensor sidecars at various Aegis test sites including but not limited to the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense Test Complex (AAMDTC) and the Combat System Engineering and Development Site (CSEDS). These data analysis tools, which the Engineer will maintain using software configuration control software, provides a critical foundation for reproducible field test experimentation and data analysis to measure the effectiveness of advanced algorithms as they mature from concept models to tactical implementation.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain software tools to perform AWS Sea-based Terminal (SBT) Increment 3 mission performance analysis. These tools include software to automatically process, extract, convert, and reduce Monte Carlo threat trajectory data to feed both new and existing radar and missile models in order to calculate performance statistics at various ship locations to define Ship Operating Areas (SOAs) for SBT Inc 3 System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR). The Engineer will perform verification and validation (V&V;) of the SBT Inc 3 performance analysis tools using data provided by industry contractors and will participate in internal and external meetings to support model registration efforts.

Requirements:

  • Secret Clearance

  • MS plus 3 years minimum experience, or BS plus 5 years minimum experience

  • Demonstrate competent programming abilities as well as experience in data reduction and analysis.

  • Possess excellent communication and problem solving skills and be able to work effectively as part of a small team.

  • Working knowledge and experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and Java and be experienced user of Linux development environment.

Skills: Preferred

  • Existing SECRET Clearance

  • Experience with software configuration management.

  • Formal software development processes, software architecture, and VV&A; processes, including for example CMMI and DoD VV&A.;

  • Software validation.

  • Experience with JSON, Protobuf, and SQL-based databases.
