Solidus is looking for a Software Engineer to join a team that develops multi-domain system architectures to meet DoD system needs. This team plays a key role in defining open architectures for sensor systems, avionics systems, ground systems, and systems that support Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2)/Joint All-Domain Command & Control (JADC2). An area of significant focus is the definition of standard languages (data and message models) for interoperating systems across operating domains (air, land, sea) and government organizations (Air Force, Army, Navy).
The Software Engineer will provide information modeling and message schema definition skills for C2 information exchanges. The engineer will contribute to the overall UC2 information model and schema design, and be responsible for the detailed definition of parts of the information model and schema. The engineer will research existing standards to determine their support for concepts needed in UC2, model the concepts in Cameo/MagicDraw, and develop XML schemas implementing the models, reusing schema elements from existing standards such as the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) and Universal C2 Interface (UCI) wherever possible.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. An Active Secret Clearance is preferred.
MS with 3 years of experience or a BS with 5 years of experience in a computer science discipline.
Strong experience with data modeling
Strong experience with software/systems/data modeling tools, ideally Cameo/MagicDraw
Strong experience with XML, including XML schema definition
Ability to work with a distributed, fast moving, multi-organization team
Preferred skills to include experience with the following:
Systems that produce and/or consume military C2 data
Military C2 standards and processes
Standard government/military data models (e.g., NIEM, UCI)
Translating between different data models/C2 standards
Java / C++ development
Message passing Middlewares
