MIT Lincoln Laboratory Systems Administrator- AI Technology Group in Lexington, Massachusetts
The AI Technology Group develops fundamental, cross-cutting, and enabling AI technologies to solve complex challenges and advance AI for the nation. In close collaboration with groups across the Laboratory and with the academic community, especially MIT, our research team is working at the frontier in AI research.
The AI Technonology Group requires a System Administrator to provide systems & application administration, security best practices, and program support to both on-site and remote Group 01 staff. The primary responsibility will be supporting the group’s cloud computing needs (AWS and/or Azure) for Python and Machine Learning applications. The position requires proven experience working in a team environment, and the ability to complete assignments independently with minimal supervision.
Deploy, manage, and operate systems and workloads on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
Author and manage Data Security Plans (DSP) for unique system and operating requirements outside established security policies, such as cloud environments. Act as the liaison to Security Department in implementing and maintaining DSPs
Help staff with building Python packages and containers
Provide general IT user support for all staff members in Group 01, interfacing and collaborating with central IT and Security departments to utilize enterprise provided services, when possible
Help staff procure computer systems, peripherals, software, etc. as required
Interface with central IT department to install, configure, and manage Windows, Mac, and Linux laptops/desktops/servers
Required Skills and Experience
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS): compute, storage, network, and database services; access management; monitoring and logging;
Experience with containers (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
Experience with Python / building Anaconda packages
Experience with remote support utilities such as Remote Desktop and SSH
Experience working with in-house, and remotely-connected end users, in troubleshooting and project support
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or 4+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Azure
