P3I, Incorporated Test Engineer in Lexington, Massachusetts

P3I is looking for a Test Engineer to support Group 105, along with partnering MITLL groups and external organizations, at MIT Lincoln Lab. The group performs radar and electronic warfare flight testing and data analysis activities. The group utilizes both operational military systems as well as laboratory assets including an Airborne Radar Testbed (integrated onto aircraft and electronic warfare hardware). Tests often involve airborne, ground, and maritime asset coordination. The work performed is very dynamic in nature and is continually changing based on the government sponsor’s needs and directions. The group’s role in these tests involves programming, planning, and executing data collections and demonstrations for ISR radar applications. The services sought will support these efforts with flight test planning, flight and ground operation of systems, test execution, engineering, and logistics activities. Description: * Develops procedures, methods and tools for test, verification and certification of products. * Validates testing activities and results of manufacturing equipment and/or hardware. * Participates in design verification of new equipment or hardware. * Participates in preparing product compliance documentation. * Develops procedures and tools for testing, calibration and verification of the equipment. * Ensures the equipment is properly tested, calibrated and certified according to the corresponding procedures. * Ensures accurate document, record and archive measurement data pertaining to product. * Responsible for testing parameters and process control performance. The candidate will provide radar and EW test planning services, test execution support, engineering and logistics support for the execution of Group 105’s radar and electronic warfare programs. Given the dynamic nature of MITLL’s needs, this work will include (but is not limited to): * Test planning, test execution, data reduction and documentation in support of field and flight testing. * Test execution may involve operating of test equipment onboard aircraft, at ground test sites, or at sea (including ship-based) for periods of 5 to 10 days. * Testing may require travel to remote test sites and coordinating plans with test range personnel. * The candidate shall support G105 staff with aircraft route planning, test equipment configuration and diagnostic testing. * The candidate shall operate radar and electronic warfare systems, conduct routine processing and analysis of this data to assess data quality and generate data reports, facilitate data transfer and archiving, and provide periodic presentations on test planning and execution activities. Requirements: * Ability to provide clear and concise written reports and provide feedback to MITLL supervisors in test planning meetings, safety reviews and test readiness reviews. * Have extensive flight test planning and execution experience * Experience with radar frequency (RF) and electronic warfare (EW) sensors and instrumentation * Must have and Active US Govt Clearance Preferred Skill: * Have basic knowledge of FAA certification processes and procedures for aircraft airworthiness * Have a basic knowledge of FCC frequency authorization process. Work from home will be limited. Candidate expected to be onsite 3-4 days a week. Interview process will be a zoom call with a small team.
