GDIT is looking for a Junior/Mid-Level Software Automation Tester to join our Cloud Engineering and Migration team to support cloud migration projects for our federal customers. You will work with a team of developers, architects, and Subject Matter Experts to develop test automation framework / suites and test applications in the Cloud.

You should have familiarity with Web applications, software services, database, and applications development. You should also embrace the DevOps culture and be able to test with minimal guidance. As a Junior/Mid-Level Software Automation Tester supporting National Institute of Health (NIH) National Library of Medicine (NLM), you will test applications migrated into the Cloud (AWS).

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Collaborating with NIH-NLM testing applications migrated into the cloud (AWS)

  • Writing, designing, and executing automated tests by creating scripts using Java, Ruby, Bash, Perl, PHP, Python

  • Writing, executing and maintaining automated system integration testing, UAT, regression testing, API testing, smoke testing, positive and negative tests, functional tests, front-end and back-end test scenarios

  • Assisting with documentation for automated processes, including test plans, test procedures, test cases and test results

  • Performing Load and Performance testing using tools like JMeter, Blazemeter etc.

  • Logging and documenting bugs in the tracking system


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline

  • Minimum of two years of experience in developing Test Automation framework and Suites using languages, including Java, Ruby, Bash, Perl, PHP, Python

  • Minimum of two years of experience with tools, including Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, and Maven.

  • Experience using API testing tools, including SOAPUI, JMeter, and Postman

  • Experience in setting up Continuous Integration using tools, such as Bamboo, Jenkins or Gitlab Experience using PowerShell Scripting and Unix/Linux Shell

  • Scripting

  • Experience with traditional SQL databases, including experience developing SQL queries

  • Experience using Agile, Scrum/Kanban methodologies in a cross-functional team environment

  • Experience working with Scrum teams to build and support software releases through CI/CD tools and processes

  • Experience with GitHub or other source code control systems, branching and merging, automated unit testing frameworks, automated build tools, and automated deploy frameworks

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and building test automation frameworks

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance


  • Hands-on AWS experience supporting Cloud engineering activities that leverage Cloud environments

  • Experience with web technologies, such as Apache, Tomcat, Node.js, Angular.

  • Research, Design, Development, Testing and Deployment experience using AWS IaaS, PaaS services, tools and technologies to support continuous integration and delivery on Linux environment

  • Familiarity and experience with containers

  • Experience and/or familiarity with tools, such as Checkmarx, Artifactory, SonarQube, JIRA, confluence

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies
